There is a general misunderstanding and a lot of myths about mobility and stretching. We find that often times capacity problems disguise themselves as a mobility problem. The simplest exercises are often the ones which provide the most benefit. However, they are often preformed or taught incorrectly. The Wall Bug: the intent is to challenge your core to resist extension of your spine. You must maintain the position of your torso, with your back pressed flat into the ground, while moving your legs. Pressing your hands into the wall helps to increase your core activation, specifically keeping the lower ribs from arching away from the ground. As you lower your leg, don't let your back peel off the ground. Learning to control your mid-section is a foundation in rehab as well as performance training. #running #triathlon #rehab #chiropractic #sanfrancisco
